We want to help
Our Member Community is designed to welcome people who have moved to the Saranac Lake area, or are looking to move to the area.
Our priority is to get you connected with great people in our community and be able to make new friends, and help you learn more about your new home. We hope to make it easier to get connected with the many resources the area has to offer.
The Newcomers Group is open to all residents of the greater Saranac Lake area regardless of length of residency. Learn about the types of members below.
We Have Two Types Of Members
Saranac Lake Newcomers is where new residents and long-time residents come together. New friendships are made as we help you get integrated into the community. Currently we have two types of member opportunities:
NEWCOMERS
Our primary area of service, Newcomers are residents who have lived in our area for 3 years or less, and is open to both seasonal and full-time area residents.
NEIGHBORS
We are thrilled at the outpouring of support from long-time people in our community who want to volunteer as part of our "Welcome Wagon."

So Many Ways To Get Involved!
Here are just some of the initiatives we have to welcome new members to the Adirondacks.
First Friend
One of the most important items to getting integrated into a new community is meeting someone that knows the area to help you feel welcome and get plugged in to the area.
Get Outdoors
There is so much to do outdoors here, and no matter what season it is, we have recreational activities for all interests, even if you're just getting started.
Dine Arounds
We'll have scheduled Pot Luck's as a fun way to try new foods and meet several people at once. It's a delicious opportunity to open our doors to new neighbors.
Social Events
The best way to learn about a new area is to join us for our social events. Whether it's live music, or a trip to local attractions, we always have something fun in the works.
Meet Your Hosts
Hi! My name is Shawn Audlin and my family and I moved to the Saranac Lake area from Colorado in 2021.
We created this community to roll out the red carpet for other newcomers, so they feel welcome and embraced by their new home town. I hope you'll consider joining our Newcomer community.
